Right. Bit of a rant. Well, not really a rant…more of an observation. Below is my 2018 so far. Not trying to sound super busy, but it’s the facts and I’m posting this because I so often hear “it’s so quiet at the moment…” from people and while I know there are times when there’s less going around, I am a firm believer that as an actor (or any freelance creative) you MUST get out there and make it happen. There’s ALWAYS somebody producing a film, rehearsing a play, planning a V/O session. Find them. Track the jobs down and apply. Hustle, don’t hassle. Well, sometimes hassle, I guess. If you want this to be your career, you have to get out there. Yes, there’s competition, but the only *real* competition is yourself. Are you doing all you can? I’m not trying to sound like some high achiever life coach here, but just do the work. You want more jobs than the others? Then you got to send more applications than the others. Do more research than the others. Chase the jobs more than the others.

My 2018 so far:

  • 1 play
  • 1 music video
  • 1 presenting job
  • 1 presenting job lined up for September
  • 1 commercial
  • 1 offer for a TV role in Feb

  • 1 V/O pencil
  • 7 days V/O booked for April
